By 2025, it is expected that there will be over 1.2 billion connected mobile broadband devices, of which around 64% will be consumer IoT connections, including devices for smart homes, wearables, and smart vehicles. “The growth potential of 5G technology in the region is a reality. It represents a fundamental transformation of communication services and use cases”, Buitrago says. “However, the success of 5G and the realization of its potential depend on how effectively the network can enable the digital transformation of enterprises” he concludes.
