Axtel rolls out its mobile solution platform in Mexico on JSC Ingenium’s MVNE/A Technology

JSC Ingenium - News: Client update - Axtel
  • The addition of mobile solutions to its service portfolio will let Axtel launch its own mobile solutions offer for the Business and Government sectors to the market, and operate as a Mobile service platform to enable and operate different MVNOs.
Axtel, a Mexican Information and Communication Technology company, started operations in its Mobile Virtual Network Operators Platform by launching MXLINK to the market, the first secure virtual network for Mexican authorities designed to guarantee public security and civil protection in the country.
MXLINK becomes the leading S-MVNO, (Secure Mobile Virtual Network Operator). MXLINK is owned by Airbus Secure Land Communications (SLC), a technology supplier to the Nationwide mission-critical Tetrapol network in Mexico.
Axtel’s decision to become an integral MVNO responds to a double strategy of the company, which involves not only incorporating the telephony service and mobile data to its ICT solution portfolio, but also meeting the demand of other companies interested in becoming an MVNO and launching their own mobile telephony projects to the market.

Axtel has entrusted JSC Ingenium to deploy its Full Core BSS+OSS 3G and 4G technology, which will allow it to operate as an aggregating platform and manage each brand individually, while offering the highest level of operating flexibility and autonomy to all its customers.

Moreover, it will be able to deploy its own MVNO on the same platform and launch to the market its own mobile solutions offer for the business and government spheres, as a complement to ICT solutions for these market segments. In this way, the company will make a difference in service and added value.

One of the most important and innovative developments of Axtel’s platform is its ability to make calls in VoLTE. Thanks to JSC Ingenium’s VoLTE technology, Axtel integrates to the ALTÁN radio network and makes it possible to make native calls in VoLTE from a Host’s 4G network to a different Host’s 3G network.

Another notable new feature is its multi-host capability. The Axtel platform will offer mobile service on the radio networks of Telcel and Altán, the latter also being known as “La Red Compartida” (the Shared Network). This feature places Axtel in an advantageous position that will let it offer MVNOs interested in operating on its platform the leading top-quality best-value coverage on the market.

Axtel belongs to the Altán Redes consortium of companies as a passive shareholder, a company responsible for the design, launch, operation and maintenance of the Red Compartida. The consortium initiated its launch plan in 2018, with the aim of reaching over 92% coverage at a domestic level by 2023, when the whole project will conclude. The Red Compartida is an LTE 4G broadband mobile network with low latency and indoor coverage capacity.
